Fresh Grapefruit Margarita Recipe

The weekend is over and you know what that means?

It's Margarita Monday!

This is a special Margarita Monday, because it just so happens to fall on a National Margarita Day!

As if we needed ANOTHER reason to break out the tequila.. ;-D

To celebrate, might I present to you a ridiculously simple and delicious grapefruit margarita recipe!

Now, most margaritas call for tequila and triple sec.

Well... I could only afford one bottle of liquor when I went to store last week. Needless to say, tequila won that battle. So, this recipe will forgo the triple sec...

I'm more of a tequila girl anyone, so I just poured in another glug of Jose to compensate (with a heavy hand I might add!)

If you're fortunate enough to have a fully stocked liquor cabinet (kudos and let's be friends), feel free to include the triple sec.

But trust me, you won't miss it with this beaut!

Fresh Grapefruit Margarita

You need:
Juice of 2 Grapefruits
Juice of 1 Lime
3 oz Silver Tequila
Glass of Ice
1 Lime (to garnish)
Salt (to garnish)

Pour fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, tequila, and ice into blender.
Blend for about 1 minute.
Slice garnish lime in half. Cut 1 slice from one half and quarter other half.
Rub lime quarter along rim of serving glass.
Pour salt onto plate. Press rim of glass in salt.
Pour blended mixture into serving glass.
Garnish with lime slice.
Cheers to a great week!

I know other margarita recipes will call for a simple syrup or some type of sweetener. Honestly, I did not feel like this needed any. I think the natural sweetness from the fruit was enough. But if you would like, feel free to add some agave or what not.
