3 Ways To Amp Up Your A.M. Protein [+Giveaway]

BREAKFAST.

It is the most important meal of day, they say.

We get it... We got it....

But do we really?

Sure, now we are finally getting breakfast in during our hectic mornings (It may be in the car while yelling exploitatives at traffic but hey! Small victories, right?!)

But, are you really getting the most out of your that morning meal?

Well, riddle me this...

For breakfast, do you usually turn to:

A) a bowl of cereal you can scarf down on your way out the door
B) an whole-grain english muffin schmeared with jelly
C) a granola bar and a piece of fruit
D) a cup of coffee, simply so you can deal with people

If you answered any of the above, well then this post is for you.

You might be asking, "Hey Hannah! What is wrong with (A,B,C, or D)?! Isn't it good that I am least having something?!"

Well... yes it is good you are managing to get some type of breakfast in (with the exception of the cup of coffee.. we need a little more outta you, slugger!)

But here's the thing: none of these options are giving you a substantial amount of protein...

A recent study out of the University of Missouri found that getting 35 gm of protein in at breakfast can be significant in preventing weight gain, stabilizing blood sugar, and keeping mid-morning hunger at bay.

But the average Amercian is only getting about 15 gms of protein in their AM meal! Eating so little protein could mean fighting against that 10AM stomach growl, when the vending machine candy bar starts looking so dang good!

But, I'll admit, getting 35 gms of protein ain't easy! Even when I decided to add 2 eggs to go along with my morning oatmeal ritual, I was still only getting about 20-25 gms, AT BEST!

But I have teamed up with Sunwarrior to share 3 ways to pump up the protein at breakfast!

1. Protein-Packed Pancakes

Pancakes use to be a staple in my AM routine. Shoot, there were some days I would have them for breakfast AND dinner! But when I realized I needed to cut down on the sugar, I had to bid adieu to my frequent coffee dates with pancakes (because who's better friends than pancakes and coffee?!)

But I have finally found a way to have my pancakes and eat them too!

For these protein pancakes, simply mix together:

1 mashed banana
2 eggs
1 tbsp of cinnamon
1 scoop of Sunwarrior Classic Plus Vanilla

Cook as you would normal pancake mix. Top with some organic vanilla yogurt and serve with a sausage link.
Total Protein Punch: 36 grams

2. Protein-Packed Oatmeal

As the weather gets colder, I love warming up with a steaming bowl of oatmeal in the morning. While oatmeal is known for being a good source of protein, a serving only has about 6 gms.

But there are ways to give your oatmeal a nice protein boost! Just combine:

1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal (gluten-free for me)
1 scoop of Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Vanilla
Handful of chopped walnuts
Handful of dried fruit

Pour some hot water over it and let it sit. Serve with 2 eggs prepared how you like, and enjoy your protein-packed breakfast!
Total Protein Punch: 37 grams

3. Protein-Powered Coffee

Yup. You read that right! Your coffee can now give you a nice protein-kick along with that caffeine. Skip the creamer and instead mix in a scoop of Sunwarrior Classic Chocolate, and you got yourself a delicious mocha!

Serve with 2 eggs and a bowl of oatmeal, and you got your day started on the right protein track!
Total Protein Punch: 35 grams

Of course, can also turn to a trusty protein smoothie to go along with eggs and oatmeal to get your 35 grams. Either way, it is important to use to a quality protein powder to make sure you are getting the best nutrition!

Sunwarrior provides quality, plant-based, raw protein powders that are non-GMO, gluten-free, and free of chemicals and additives! When you read through the ingredient list, you'll find real, organic foods that you'll actually recognize! Unlike those nasty artificial protein powders out there...

Sunwarrior protein powders are also complete protein source, which means their powders include all 9 essential amino acids that we must consume through food (important for vegans and vegetarians!)
