Easy & Healthy Avocado Feta Dip

Great spinach artichoke dip alternative! Creamy and delicious, and quite a bit nutritious!

One of my favorite football game appetizers is spinach artichoke dip! It also happens to be one of the worst appetizers for you. You would think with it having both spinach AND artichoke in the name, it would be a lot healthier. But with the average calorie intake weighing in at 1600, even if you split this with a friend it can be considered a meal in and of itself! And it's loaded with unhealthy fats.

Well, last week as I was watching my Packers (heartbreakingly) throw away our hopes of another Super Bowl title, I got a craving for something spinach artichoke dip-esque. I thought, "Well, I have avocado. I have feta. That is close enough!"

That is why I love keeping avocado around! It is great for moments like this when you need to bury your emotions in food. It comforts me and it is full of healthy stuff! So, I pulled out some spices and seasonings and whipped up a batch of this avocado feta dip!


This cuts the fat and calorie content in half! Plus it is full of fiber, unsaturated fats, potassium, and folate! Serve it with some crackers, pita chips, and veggies for awesome, healthy appetizer or snack!

Easy & Healthy Avocado Feta Dip


Time: 5 Minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients:
2 Avocados 
1/3 cup of Feta
1 tbsp of Olive Oil
1 tbsp of Lemon Juice
1/4 cup of chopped onions
Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions:
Place all ingredients in a food processor, only using about 2/3 of the feta.
Pulse until completely blended.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Sprinkle remaining feta on top of dip.
Serve with your choice of crackers, chips, and veggies!
